Materials & design

Our design is contemporary yet with timeless characteristics. It is made to last a lifetime in terms of both quality and aesthetics.

It is the interpretation of the classic shirt, with new details or a different silhouette. The knitted sweater you always turn to, on summer nights or under your coat during a long winter. It is the cool silk dress that because of its thickness and wearability becomes your everyday-favorite, even though you thought silky dresses only were for nights out dancing. We create your wardrobe and your all time favourites, not your fast-fashion-fix you have lost your interest in before the next season has even started.

We only work with high quality materials with a longevity, a comfortable feel on the body and with a high level of sustainability. When creating our products, the choice of materials plays a huge role on the final environmental footprint. Therefore our approach to material selection is very determined and deliberate.

See our FIBRE TOOL.

We have a preference for natural looking materials, and a clear vision of making clothing that is state-of-the-art without ever compromising comfort and functionality.

For many of our natural fibers we prefer the original color of the materials. Most of our knitwear are made in the natural colors of the animal, so the yarns have natural glow, imperfection and variation in colors. We love colors, we just choose them very carefully. Mostly we go for the natural looking colors, and we always prefer colors we believe we would still love many years later.

Certifications

GOTS – GLOBAL ORGANIC TEXTILE STANDARD

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) is the worldwide leading textile processing standard for organic fibres, including ecological and social criteria, backed up by independent certification of the entire textile supply chain. It covers the entire production chain, from field to finished product.

GOTS covers processing, manufacturing, packaging, labelling, trading and distribution of all textiles made from at least 95 percent certified organic natural fibres.

The certificate includes both social and environmental criteria, by ensuring regulated working conditions for all workers in the process, treatment of wastewater, strictly regulated use of chemicals, quality requirements for product, etc.

All Proem Parades 100% cotton products are organic and fully GOTS certified.

FSC – FOREST STEWARDSHIP COUNCIL

FSC is a a global non-profit organization that sets the standards for what is a responsibly managed forest, both environmentally and socially.

FSC runs a global forest certification system with two key elements: Forest management and chain of custody. With this certification consumers can identify wood, paper and other products with origins from the forest produced from well-managed forests and/or recycled materials.

We mainly use products with the FSC certification for the cardboard boxes our products are shipped in (this is a demands from our side), for all office papers, our trimmings such as hang tags etc.

BSCI

The Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) is a management system within supply chain. The initiative supports companies to drive social compliance and improvements within the factories and farms in their global supply chains.

BSCI implements the principle international labour standards protecting workers’ rights such as International Labor Organization (ILO) conventions and declarations, the United Nations (UN) Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and guidelines for multinational enterprises of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

BSCI follows one common Code of Conduct and one single Implementation System, which means the factory working with BSCI has been approved under International agreement (and not one made by the factory itself).

Our Chinese supplier located in Hangzhou has BSCI Audit.

SEDEX, SMETA Audit

Sedex is a global membership organisation dedicated to driving improvements in ethical and responsible business practices in global supply chains. It is globally known and recognized. The four pillars of SEDEX are: labour, health and safety, environment and business ethics. The collaborative approach helps the members to share information and exchange information and data in order to improve and manage their supply chain with the thoughts of a social and environmental aspect.

Our Indian supplier has SMETA Audit.
